The organic aromatherapy Print E-mail

Plant quality:

Wild plants, under organic label, picked outside the pollution, in the respect of the biotope for the conservation of sorts, to be again able to harvest the next year. Plants stemming from certified biological cultures, exempt from impurities and rich in energy. Final concentration of products implies a search of maximal purity, without track of pesticides, weedkillers, radioactivities, or still for heavy  metals, that only the organic guarantee can assure you.

Furthermore, the tiny quantity of consummate product as well as a good knowledge of its use, allow to choose the best quality to without weighing down its budget.

The guarantee of Botanical Recognition ( Latin name):

In the kind "Eucalyptus", there are several hundreds of sorts. It is major to clarify the complete botanical name of the plant which determines its sort: Eucalyptus " globulus ", or " radiata ",  " citriodora " or still " smiti i", usually used in aromatherapy have different compositions, properties and application.
The botanical recognition is indispensable.

The plant part from which the oil is extracted (Producing organ):

Of a bitter orange tree (bigaradier), we can extract an essential oil of leaf, flower or zest. Their properties are different and have no same usage.  For example, the essential oil of zest contains exclusively terpenes, that of flower (neroli) contains especially linalol and that of leaves (small grain of bigaradier) contains especially some acetate of linalyle and has a composition close to the Lavender.

The system of sweet steam extraction without pressure:

Art of the distillation, as that of the big cooking, implicates a well made work and a passion of the result. Slow and complete extraction in the "sweet" vapor and without pressure guarantees a chemical and organoleptic quality (taste and smell) exceptional of essential oils.

The chémotype (or biochemical specificity of essential oils):

The chémotype of an essential oil is a precise reference which indicates the present majority or distinctive biochemical constituent in the essential oil. It is the element which allows to distinguish essential oil extracted of one same sorts botany but from a different biochemical composition.  The chémotype is tracked down thanks to an analysis chromatographic and spectrometric which recognizes and identifies molecules. This major classification allows to select essential oil for a more precise, more safe and more effective.

The origin of plants:

The origin or the soil of plants can indicate a particular chemical specificity, confirmed by the definition of the chémotype.

The majority of essential oil are obtained by distillation in the steam under low pressure.

The process consists in making cross by some steam a tub filled with various parts of plant (flowers, leaves, whole plants,...).

At the exit of the tub of distillation and under checked pressure, the vapor enriched by essential oil condenses in a serpentine bathed by cold water.

At the exit, water and essential oil are collected in the florentine vase.

The essential oil not being miscible and often lighter than the water, it floats on the surface where it is easily collected.

Another process reserved for the zests of Citrus (mandarin, orange, lemon).

When we press a lemon above the flame of a candle, thousands of pépites of gold form a sheaf of sparks. They are essential oil. It is by this process of mechanical action that we practise the extraction  of the oil held in the zest of citrus fruits.

Other processes of extraction (by enfleurage, by solvent) will not be detailed here because it cannot be used for a scientific aromatherapy deserving of this name.

Precaution of employment:

Essential oil being very concentrated active products, it is necessary to respect the indicated dosage and to take certain precautions:

- Hold them outside the reach of children

- Ban their use for children of less than 6 years and the pregnant women without medical opinion.

- Be watchful in case of allergies

- Not expose itself to the sun after application on the skin of care on base of essential oil and avoid any direct or indirect contact with eyes (in case of contact, get an eyeful with some vegetable oil)

For a use on the skin, essential oil must be always diluted in a vegetable oil. Attention: essential oil is not miscible (they do not mix in the water).

It is careful to verify that there are no interactions between certain essential oil and some current medical treatment.

Essential oil containing potentially allergenic molecules, it is deeply advised during a first use to verify by a cutaneous test, the tolerance of essential oil. Apply the essential oil diluted in a vegetable oil inside the wrist. If after 12 hours no unpleasant reaction of the skin is noticed, you can use your oil.

Essential oil of citrus can have a bad effect, it is thus advisable not to expose itself to the sun in 12 hours according to its application.

The essential oil of peppermint never applies to a cutaneous surface spread because of the ice-cold reaction which it provokes

Conservation:

Essential oil being particularly fragile, it must be kept in flasks, shielded from the air and from the light.

Use:

Atmospheric broadcasting:

- By means of an electric diffuser for a cold diffusion which keeps qualities of essential oil. Attention: oils rich in phenol are irritating and thus disadvised in pure diffusion: thyme, savory, oregano, clove, cinnamon...

- By putting some drops of essential oil on a piece of ceramic

- In inhalation: some drops of essential oil in a bowl of boiling water and breathe approximately 5 minutes with a towel on the head.

Internal way:

- For any use by internal way, we advise you to follow the recommendations of a doctor or an aromatherapist.

- Oil can be used in cooking to flavor receipts at the rate of one-two drops...

- Put back you in works of culinary receipts on base of essential oil.

Local way:

- Bath: always watch to dilute the essential oil in a neutral base or salt of bath otherwise the oil remains on surface and can provoke irritations and burns of the skin. For a bath you can put 20 in 30 drops.

- Massage or body oil: it is necessary to dilute always the essential oil chosen in a vegetable oil of your choice: macadamia, sweet almond etc...

Please read what follows:

- Never apply pure essential oil to mucous membranes (noses, ears, eyes, genitalia)

- Never leave flasks within the reach of the children, most of accidents being bound to this carelessness, even at the persons informed well.

- The allergic patients will make a test of preliminary allergy (some drops on the fold of the elbow)

- Never inject essential oil by intravenous or intramuscular way.

- Never diffuse in the house certain pure essential oil: Peppermint, Thyme, Cinnamon, Savory, Oregano... They are too strong for the diffusion and could activate cramps and prick eyes.

- In case of accidental ingestion of a small quantity of pure essential oil, set 1 in 10 spoons of fat vegetable oil.

In case of accidental ingestion of a more important quantity of pure essential oil:

- Swallow several spoonful of fat vegetable oil.

- Hospitalize the victim in urgency.

We passed on all the information necessary for the center anti-poison of your region (France) for a fast reaction of the emergency doctor.

Available anti-poison in download list centres here.

Projection in eyes:

- Pay at once some vegetable oil into the eye and cross a cotton soaked with vegetable oil to eliminate.
